Sera is an ongoing discovery of many Turkish narratives and traditions.
The initial inspiration came from the creative energy of her hometown, Trabzon, and the traditional local skills that have been practiced there for generations: from the intricate gold weaving technique to the commonly practiced craft of basketry. This exploration has expanded to a search and preservation of various crafts and techniques all around Turkey, to be discovered through editions and presented by collaborations with artists, artisans and makers. Each “edition” or collection therefore comes to life in the textiles, embroideries, techniques or silhouettes, and details such as tying, layering, wrapping.
By using natural raw materials and creating well-made, long-lasting garments with an artisanal touch, the studio intends to revive and preserve native crafts and inspirations by adapting them to today’s ways of dressing.
