the studio

Sera is imagined by Turkish designer Sera Oltan and was founded in 2020 in Paris, France.

Sera is inspired by the cultural and textile influences of Turkey, of the mythologies and stories that are housed within its vast history. Through this, Sera is inspired, most of all, by people.

Using clothesmaking to tell material narratives, the studio presents an
ongoing research of crafts, craftspeople, and their stories. Stretching over two lands, between France and Turkey, these discoveries are presented through textiles, volumes, and details and explored through collaborations with artists, craftspeople, and makers.

The studio exercises a balanced, universal, and present-day approach to clothes-making and dressing with a focus on natural raw materials and French know-how in the making. Its detail-oriented, well-made, and long-lasting garments and accessories are presented in the form of cross-seasonal editions, to preserve tradition and share knowledge.
